My Topics of interest are focused in Emergent Behavior of Complex Systems

My research activity is mainly multidisciplinary. It comprises statistical mechanics, cognitive processes, decision making and sociological theories. The tools involved include the development of theoretical models, both discrete (model agents, cellular automata, etc.) and continuous (master equations, differential equations, etc.), information theory, theory of complex networks, conducting experiments on-line , text-mining, etc. My current project is part of my line of work in recent years: understand emergent behaviors of complex systems. Our approach consist in taking questions from other disciplines and analyzed using tools of physics, such as statistical mechanics: how the set of thoughts / actions emerge from the underlying neuronal dynamics (statistical mechanics of the brain)? Or how emerging groups of groups of people or social networks from the interaction of a set of individual wills (Social Thermodynamics) behaviors?

Mis temas de interés se desarrollan a partir del estudio de comportamientos colectivos emergentes de Sistemas Complejos

Mi actividad de investigación es eminentemente multidisciplinaria.  Mezcla mecánica estadística,  procesos cognitivos, toma de decisiones y teorías sociológicas vigentes.  Las herramientas que manejo abarcan el desarrollo de modelos teóricos, tanto discretos (modelo de agentes, autómatas celulares, etc) como continuos (ecuaciones maestras, ecuaciones diferenciales, etc), teoría de información, teoría de redes complejas, realización de experimentos on-line, text-mining, etc. Mi proyecto actual se enmarca dentro de mi línea de trabajo de los últimos años: entender comportamientos emergentes de sistemas complejos. Para eso nos valemos de preguntas provenientes de otras disciplinas y las analizamos mediante herramientas de la física, como por ejemplo, la mecánica estadística:  ¿cómo emergen el conjunto de pensamientos / acciones a partir de la dinámica neuronal subyacente (mecánica estadística del cerebro)? O ¿cómo emergen comportamientos colectivos de grupos de personas o en redes sociales a partir de la interacción de un conjunto de voluntades individuales (Termodinámica Social)?
